How MINI X platforms ship into the field
Four deployments that show how the catalogue is configured for real sites — the constraint, the build we specified and what changed on the floor.
AGV fleet control without a single fan
Vehicle-mounted controllers for a 24/7 automated warehouse.
Controllers mounted on the vehicle saw constant vibration and cabinet temperatures above 50 °C. Fan-cooled units failed on dust, and USB adapters kept dropping the EtherCAT link.
A sealed AGV terminal with automotive connectors, EtherCAT and GMSL camera input, plus BIOS auto power-on so the fleet recovers after a power cut.
- No moving parts on the vehicle — the fan was the only wear item.
- One controller SKU covers three vehicle types instead of three separate boxes.
- EtherCAT and camera run on the same unit, removing two USB adapters per vehicle.
Three 4K screens per player, no manual reboots
Menu boards and window displays across a store estate.
Consumer players overheated behind the panels and needed a site visit to reboot. Video walls lost frame sync between outputs, and nobody could tell a frozen screen from a dark one.
A fanless signage player driving three independent 4K outputs, with hardware watchdog, auto power-on and a locked BIOS so staff cannot change display settings.
- Watchdog restarts a frozen player without a site visit.
- Three displays per unit cut the box count per store by two thirds.
- Locked BIOS keeps resolution and boot order stable across the estate.
Inspection at the line, not in the cloud
Packaging inspection on a fast moving production line.
Sending every frame to the cloud added 200–600 ms and saturated the plant uplink. The line needed a verdict before the box left the cell.
An edge AI box with an on-device NPU running the inspection model locally, dual GbE to the camera network and 5G as a backhaul option.
- Inference stays inside the cell — no round-trip to the cloud.
- Camera streams no longer leave the plant network.
- The same image runs on pilot and series units.
A six-port firewall that fits a cabinet
Managed firewall and VPN edge for branch offices.
The service provider needed six LAN segments and AES-NI throughput in a box small enough for a wall cabinet, with no fan to clog in dusty back offices.
A fanless six-LAN appliance on Intel N100 with AES-NI, dual storage for logging and a locking DC jack so a cleaner cannot unplug it.
- Six segmented LANs without an external switch.
- No fan to service across hundreds of branch sites.
- Locking DC connector removes a common truck-roll cause.
